Our Story
Jaclan started with friendship first. Before we were freelancers, we were simply a group of friends who believed in each other’s creativity. Based in the Denton–Dallas–Fort Worth area, Jaclan was officially founded on February 13, 2025 through UNT’s Latino Film Club. However, the foundation was built long before that, in late nights, shared projects, and a collective passion for storytelling.
As we worked together to help revive the Latino Film Club, we saw something special happening. It wasn’t just about making films — it was about trust, support, laughter on set, honest feedback, and pushing each other to be better artists. When graduation approached, we knew we didn’t want that bond and creative energy to end.
Jaclan became our promise to each other: that our friendship would continue to build something meaningful. We created a space where collaboration feels like family, where Latino filmmakers in the DFW area can create together, grow together, and tell stories that reflect who we are. In an industry that often lacks intentional spaces for Latino creatives, Jaclan exists not just as a production collective — but as a circle of friends choosing to build something lasting.
